LAKE RESIDENT REQUEST

Thanks to all interested parties in the watershed for their comments on the lake quality work we have done.

The largest interest was the milfoil eradication project on Flint Lake. Currently, a plant survey is occurring on Long Lake, which hopefully will provide the basis for funding for a milfoil kill next year. Others have inquired about additional plant kills along their shoreline and the costs involved.

If the District can obtain funding for this work on Long Lake in 2008, any interested parties, along with other homeowners, could assist financially and help hire the aquatic company for any future work. This happened when VLACD treated Flint Lake, and those homeowners experienced some savings.

The results that I’ve seen appear to be very good.

Therefore, any citizens/homeowners who are interested in more information about this project should leave contact information at VLACD, and we will try to help coordinate with our contractor for you.
